Disney Interactive Studios Interview

Journal Entry: Fri Apr 27, 2012, 4:03 AM

News and Updates

By some miracle I have been invited to interview at Hammersmith's Disney Interactive Studios for an internship next week.
It's so exciting! .. But also terrifying.
And it's the day before our final film deadline too, so I'll look like a zombie D:

I'm not sure how many people they interview, but I know there are only two places..
I might have a heart attack right now, just thinking about it!
We were also told not to bring anything O - O Ohh... I'll probably have my sketchbook in my
bag anyway since I take it most places, but still.
So exciting!

If anyone has any advice for an internship interview, or somewhere similar, I'd love to hear it? :]

Yeah, I was just myself in there, which was a bit
awkward and unprofessional maybe but I guess that's okay xD

Grats! :D And good luck. They're a games studio, aren't they? Epic Mickey and stuff? :) Wellll... I've had two interviews, first Ninja Theory (internship) then TT (actual job), and you can expect a games interview to be super casual. It's more like turning up and having a lovely chat with some interesting people. Just think of a few slightly out-there questions to ask them in return, and remember to have good answers for stuff like what your favourite movie, animation or game is. And don't be worried if it's quite short; my best interview was like 25 minutes. xD

Ah thankyou! :D This makes me feel alot better :] Interesting chats and talking about my favourite video games I can do! I suppose if I don't get in atleast I can ask for some tips for the future/crits on my work or something.
When you say 'out-there' questions?
Congrats on your TT job by the way! :] How did your Ninja Theory Internship go?

Yeah, asking for crits is a really good idea as well. :) Well, it's nice for them to get a question they've not heard before, since it makes them remember you. Not necessary but maybe a good idea if you can think of anything relevant.
Thankyou! Ninja went well, was there for 8 months, worked on some cool stuff though most of it was purely mo-cap. Enjoying TT a lot more. :) The animation department is huge and full of really genuine, creative people. I'm doing layout, which is basically what they do instead of storyboarding at the moment... Very fun and I've got a lot of creative freedom. Definitely one of the better places for start-out animators in the UK at the moment, I think. Whereabouts is Disney Interactive based?
